Northern Jet is seeking a qualified Staff Accountant to join our team to keep our company’s financial numbers and budgets on track with unwavering accuracy. The successful candidate will have a natural passion for math and a strong understanding of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial transactions within an organization. As a key player, you will contribute to maintaining our company’s financial health through precision and proactive measures.
This is a full-time position based in Orlando, FL.

Objectives of this Role:
- General Ledger Reconciliations:
- Execute mid-level general ledger account reconciliations.
- Verify the accuracy of financial data.
- Identify and correct errors made by both internal and external personnel.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close activities.
- Handle assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Maintain operational management accounts.
- Compliance:
- Monitor policies and procedures for assigned departments.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting reporting and recording procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial requirements.
- Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update records and reports for profit and loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets.
- Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance, or at least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
- Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in audit accounting.
- Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.) is a plus.
- ADP knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting, predominately in an office environment.
