Their efforts played a key role in addressing a landing gear issue and helping restore operational flow during the runway closure.
After an aircraft experienced a landing gear malfunction that prevented full retraction, airport operations faced extended delays. When it became clear that the response required additional aviation-specific knowledge, Garcia and Nieto took initiative and traveled directly to the site to assist ground crews and a towing operator who lacked aircraft-specific familiarity.
Upon arrival, Garcia and Nieto assessed the situation, guided proper jacking procedures, secured the landing gear, and supported the safe relocation of the aircraft to a hangar. Their actions helped bring the situation to resolution within approximately ninety minutes.
